Shareholder communications builds shareholder confidence. Shareholder value soon follows. That is the entire premise behind investor relations, the tools we sell ( and the advice we blog ).
Not seen at this level for three years, the State Street Investor Confidence Index measures investor confidence or risk appetite quantitatively by analyzing the actual buying and selling patterns of institutional investors.
“The Global ICI rose to 106.8 in June, up 11.9 points from May’s revised reading of 94.9. The increase was largely driven by an increase in risk appetite among North American investors, as evidenced by the 11.4 point increase in the North American ICI to 114.0 from May’s revised level of 102.6.”
Bernanke’s recent June actions are unaccounted for in these numbers, but any uptick in investor confidence is a “buy” for IR. It means IR is doing their job well. Read the full press release from State Street here.
Have a great day.
