More eyeballs to prevent filing errors. THAT is a best practice I understand.

One aspect from the pre-release of Google’s earnings 8-K was the point of web disclosure – the shareholder communications option of not using a newswire service to disclose material news.  The SEC approved web disclosure in 2008 – it’s an old, tired discussion and it would disingenuous for a newswire to label web disclosure as either best practice or not-best practice. Dammit Jim, I’m a newswire, not a securities lawyer.

What I will speak to is a workflow path that includes professional review (proofread) editors and the double-checks of running an 8-K through an integrated newswire – SEC filing provider… um, like PR Newswire-Vintage Filings for example.

Again, this path is NOT for every issuer. Our new fleXBRL offers a 100% issuer-controlled DIY path to both XBRL and standard EDGAR filing.

Have a great day.

  1. Why people still use to read news papers when in this technological globe the whole thing is accessible on web?
